    Annual Gem Show
    Minerama is held annually 2nd weekend in March at Glen Innes, NSW. In 2008, will be held March 8th to 10th. This gem show is one of the largest annual gem shows in NSW and features fossicking field trips for a variety of gems in the area (eg. sapphire, garnet, topaz, quartz crystals, etc). Field trips are suitable for both beginner and expert fossickers with some locations not normally open to the public. The gem show has a large number of traders in gems, lapidary supplies, minerals, fossils, jewellery and much more with gemmologists/faceting experts in attendance for advice throughout the weekend.

    Free entry to the Gem Show over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Field trips at very reasonable cost from Thursday to Monday.

    Location: The main camping area at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC), cnr Northbourne Ave (Federal Highway) and Flemington Rd, Lyneham.

    Nominal opening hours are 9am to 5pm both days, but there are no restrictions on selling times. Tailgaters are welcome to trade between themselves and any stray members of the public any time they are set up and ready. Around sixty tailgaters from the eastern states and SA will sell from their large campsites, selling all the usual goodies that turn up at tailgater shows. We even allow dealers to participate!

    Over the Labour Day long weekend end in October 2008, in the basketball stadium at the Goulburn Recreation Area. Of course, it is the State Gem & Mineral Show and Competition, so there will be plenty of competition entries - and some sections are so well contested, you need nearly 100% to get a placing.

    Dealers and tailgaters will supply the most wonderful assortment of goodies - and empty the pockets of lots of those attending.

    On-site camping is available, and for those who prefer two caravan parks are not too far away. The Show will be open until 5pm on Saturday & Sunday, and finish at noon on Monday.
