| The
33rd Annual Joint Mineralogical Seminar will be held on the Queens Birthday
weekend on the 12th -14 June 2010 in Adelaide, South Australia. The venue is
the Royal Society of South Australia rooms located behind the Art Gallery
and South Australian Museum complex. The theme for the Seminar is Australian
Collectors & Collecting and will host prominent guest speakers talking on a
diverse range of interesting topics.

Seminar Dinner and Mineral Market:
In addition to the formal presentations there will be a mineral
market on Sunday morning with a chance to buy, sell and swap mineral items,
and an informal dinner on Saturday night at the Earl of Leicester Hotel.

Field Trips:
There will also be an
opportunity for those who are able, to attend some field collecting
excursions for 1-2 days after the seminar has ended. Monday

Mount Malvern, Clarendon
A small Ag-Pb-Cu mine with scenic views. Some 60 species have been
recorded, mostly as micromounts. Tuesday
15th - Friday 18th June
Olary Province
An extended filed trip has been arranged to visit the Paratoo and Mutooroo
Copper Mines. Paratoo is a notable occurrence for a number of rare earth
copper minerals and at Mutooroo, secondary copper minerals in various
combinations from attractive micromount material |
