Situated in the Darling Downs region of SE Queensland, the Toowoomba Lapidary Club is affiliated with Queensland Lapidary and Allied Craft Clubs Association Inc. (QLACCA) and participates in the personal insurance scheme covering members using workshop facilities and while on field trips.

Field Trips
In SE Queensland and northern New South Wales, both cabochon and faceting material can be found, e.g. agate, chalcedony, garnet, jasper, petrified wood, rhodonite, sapphire, topaz.

Objectives

TOOWOOMBA GEMFEST

Considered one of the best 2-day shows in Queensland, the Toowoomba Gemfest is held on the last weekend in October every year.

Hosted by the Toowoomba Lapidary Club, some 30 gem dealers coming from Central Queensland in the north, to Melbourne in the south, will collectively put together a visually spectacular expo in the Assembly Hall.

Information for Tailgaters:  Pre-bookings are preferred to guarantee a site, but no money payment until the day.  Sites are $15.00 per weekend. Gates open at 5am. Sites are 3 metres (frontage) × 7 metres. Please provide your own tables, chairs and shelter.  Must have public liability insurance.
